A Celebration of Life
for JOSEPH "ALLEN" MELLO
September 17, 1946 – June 24, 2007

Allen Mello was a long-time member of the Rainbow Community Center (RCC) and active with the Men's Social Group. He could be depended upon to put a smile on everyone's face at most events. His mischievous sense of humor and his warmth and interest in others will be missed. Allen was a wonderful cook and often prepared dinners and other treats for his many friends.
Allen was born in New Bedford, MA, but was raised in Kansas City, MO. He worked in the printing business his whole life, including owning a successful business in Denver. He lived in Antioch for a while and eventually resided in Walnut Creek for many years.
Allen is survived by his loving partner Scott Todd, caring sister Judy Farley of Liberty, MO, niece Heather Clevenger of Kansas City, MO, and preceded in death by his cherished mother Inez and brother Jerry.
Memorial contributions were suggested in lieu of flowers to organizations that Allen passionately supported: The Rainbow Community Center, 3024 Willow Pass Road, Concord, CA 94519 www.rainbowcc.org and Project Open Hand, 730 Polk Street, San Francisco, 94109 http://www.openhand.org .
A Celebration of his life was held at the home of Keith Green and Tom Lewenz on Saturday, July 14th, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
